Koh Tao is located in The Gulf of Thailand. It is close to Koh Phangan and Koh Samui and also offers easy access from Chumphon. Most travelers either come via boat from Koh Phangan and Koh Samui or via overnight transfer from Bangkok via Chumphon. Coming from The South of Thailand there are transfers from Surat Thani, but they are a bit longer than from Chumphon, so experienced travelers prefer going little bit further to Chumphon and then taking the boat from there.
